Removing the Furnace Plate

We just bought this trailer in the fall so haven't yet used it. I imagine I might be here quite a bit over the next few months..

There is a screw attaching the front plate to the frame of the furnance opening, but we can't get to that screw.
The front of the furnance has a small vent in the bottom half of the larger full grate, and there is a little handle that should help to remove it. But this little knob doesn't move, so do we just pull it? Or does it slide up and down? If so we need some WD40, I guess, to loosen it.
It looks like we need to remove this small vent in order to get at the screw that holds the big full plate.

Are we on the right track?

Nicole, what's the brand/model of the furnace? Maybe there's a manual in the Document Center that will help

There's also a Trilliums Manual there...but, I looked nothing in it that speaks to the furnace.

It is a Duo-Therm 65810 model.

This particular model is not in the documents section, so we had a look at the Trillium manual. It looks like the prior owner had the grate on upside down, so that's why it was hard to remove.

We used a screw driver to pry it out, so now we are OK....

it is more then likely rusted together, i ended up destroying the wind guard cap on my 78 trillium. in my cause it had to be done so much soot had built up the furnace just did not burn clean. the outer vet tube is a tube in a tube assembly if that helps at all . if you can force some kind of lubricant between the tubes you might have a chance of getting them to separate .
