I don't think you have to have a casita to answer this question.

My front parking lights on the camper need replaced. The contacts have corroded as such that lighting function is intermittent. I have the replacement part (I'm replacing the little assembly that holds the light bulb), but I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove the two grommets that affix the light fixture to the trailer. it isn't a phillips screw or anything, just a round grommet with a round opening in the center.

If you don't know what I mean, I'll post a picture later.

Thanks!

It's a pop rivet that has to be drilled out but wait for someone here to tell you the drill size because i'm not sure.... but it is definately smaller than the cap size on that rivet. When it's out just pop rivet another back in to hold in place.

I replaced all of the running lights on our Casita shortly after purchasing it in 2004.

The process is quite simple:
1) Drill out the old pop rivets
2) Splice new wires to old wires
3) Puss splices and wire back into the hole
4) pop rivet back into place

The pop rivets are 1/8 inch dia. and 1/2 inch long. You should use a 1/8 inch drill bit to remove the old rivets.

Sounds simple. Okay, so it looks like i need to buy some pop rivets. After the olds ones are drilled out, they are useless and disposed of, correct? Does one need a "rivet gun" to install a new rivet?

I would also schmooze some butyl tape in those holes (wires and rivets) to keep out water.

Make sure when you purchase one that installs 4 different size pins.

Just ask at Home Depot/Lowes.

If you want to replace the entire housing, check out this site... there's LED replacement housing/lenses on the site too... further down on the referenced page.
