Hello. I am wanting to re-rivet my scale. I have decided to go the rivet route over stainless steel screws at the moment due to cost and also ease. I know how to use the riveter, and I have seen many great thread on this forum about this subject.
My first question is, after I drill out the old rivets, do I put the same size back in? Or do I need to use a larger diameter?
I found a list of some rivets sizes for a 77
scamp on a different thread, but it doesn't have the ones that I need the most. Namely, the upper cabinets , and the rear window went on the 1977 model is riveted in. Does anyone have this info or advice? I emailed
scamp and this was their reply, "Well for all those old trailers its hard to no what rivets they used. The older trailers were sprayed not consistent and get thick and thinner in spots.
The rivets i would recommend are the 6-14 rivets. for all the cabinets. You could get some 6-12 if it thinner. For the window. If it got them big headed washer rivets we dont carry them. you will have to find them at a hardware store."
No too helpful....
