So, I need to reinstall from missing parts and have a few questions.
This if for a 13 ft 1977
scamp.
First. Some curtain hod holders are gone. Holes are still there.
I was going to rivet, and picked up the appropriate size 30 pack from
scamp.
In looking at the existing rivets, it seems they are slightly different that what I am used to. They appear flush on both sides. In my riveting days, I always remember a flat side, and a nub side.
Am I thinking of the wrong kind of rive? If So, I will need a new tool
If that's just how "repairs" are done, then I will aim for the flat side on the exterior, and leave the numb on the curtain hardware.
Next is cabinet doors. I am missing the door on the closet. Sheared off.
Again, looks like more rivets. Can I use bolt hardware and locktite on this?
Would be easier, and allow me the ability to install easier.
Curious if bolts were not used for some reason, or if rivets were just easy and a carry through from any exterior attachments. They make sense there.
Only thing I could think of it to counteract some kind of sheering action.
My cabinet door says it didn't work
I was planning on using round head stainless bolts. In fact, I would use those on the cabinet door, the 3 over the kitchen cabinet doors, and also the wrought iron brace that is currently missing in my
scamp that I am replacing.
Thanks!
