I have a little "senior citizen" 1980, 17C Bigfoot trailer, and the roof vent seems to have sprung a leak, I suppose just like all senior citizens do eventually. So do I replace the entire vent which appears to be fault free, no cracks etc, or just reseat and reseal the vent in which case how do I do it??? Or is this a job better left to the pros and I haul it into the shop, god fobid. Help!!!! All advice and tips gratefully accepted, I am a rookie. Many thanks, and my geriatric trailer thanks you too. If the vent itself appears to be sound, then I would remove it, clean off all of the old sealant(s), and reseat it in new butyl tape, and caulk all of the exposed fasteners with C-10 sealant.

Do you know who made the vent?

Frederick, do you know if that product is readily available? Or is it somewhat of a speciality item?

With the coming of the rain to the central valley, we too have a wet spot under our aft Fantastic Fan.

Grrrrrrr.....

When I FIRST noticed it, I did get the ladder and took a quick Look-See... nothing APPEARED amiss on the outside, but clearly something is. Drip is right onto the dining table.

We want to get out for AZ on Wednesday, so I **MAY** have to live with it until we get down there, and then strip it down and deal with it then. We are supposed to have RAIN, RAIN, RAIN for the next week or so up here.

I second Fredericks' suggestion. Use C-10 to seal all screws/rivets after you have reset the fan. You should be able to find C-10 at most RV dealers or perhaps Camping World. This stuff is fantastic. Pretty easy to work with and it self levels. Good luck, Ron

I get my C-10 at Camping World.

My Fiber Stream has remained dry inside during our recent rains.
