Someone posted a 69 Campster, at least, their registration said 69. That also could have been a registration error.

Ok. I think mine is a 71, but the plates on it expires in 1995 and the camper is no longer in the DMV database. The previous owner has no clue as to what it is. I need to figure out what it is so I can title it and get the registration. Mine has huge pinstriping on it that I've never seen

It's a Campster- maybe the other owners can chip in with their year and number... mine as I said is 1970 and 149. Then you can place yours exactly as to year. Depending on how your DMV works you may be able to just tell them what it is.

Definitely a Trailswest Campster

You have a really nice rig there. It looks like the Campster for sure. Check out some of the pictures of my interior to see how close it is. I have an ice box on the curbside and a 2 burner stove with sink on the driver side.

I will have to go look at my serial number. Mine was said to be a 71 but the registration was 70. I like the stripe on yours. Looks like a nice paint job on the pics.

Found the info in another post.
The Vehicle id is 0397. It also says it was made in 1970 and first sold in 1971.

I think Jim Ingram's was 388 and made in 1970 (it is also in an older post but I forgot to write down the info so I'm kind of guessing.)

From what I can tell, they must have made more in 1970 than any other year as that's what most of us have or have seen advertised here. We really should develop a registry. Some of the VIN numbers say S (mine is S 149) and some don't, not sure why that is. The Trails West company that exists now claims no relationship to this trailer.

I'll post some of my interior pictures tomorrow- mine has the original cabinets, kind of a woodgrain veneer, though I painted the wood behind them. When I bought it it had the original table and cushions.

Trails West is still making trailers, but only horse trailers. I don't know if they would be any help on the history issues. Might be worth a phone call.

I emailed them years ago and they said they did not make the Campster. So if they did, rather than another company with the same name, they don't remember doing it!
