Trailer: 1992 13 ft Scamp

Today I went out and purchased a 6 way to 7 way adapter for my 13' scamp. I figured this would be easier then changing the trailer wire end to 7 way plug. Here's the problem, My rear brake lights and rear turn signals work but no running lights. I checked all the bulbs and cleaned all connections which seem to be fine. In addition, I never hooked the lights up to see if they worked prior to installing the adapter so I'm really not sure if they worked before. Any information would greatly appreciated.

I'm guessing there might be a break in your running light wire before it reaches any of your running lights OR it could be a bad ground on each of the lights. I had this on a Boler. Two running lights were not working. It was a simple matter of taking the lens off the running lights and twisting the screw with the ground wire attached. This broke some of the rust free and the lights came back on.

Use a portable battery pack to check out the trailer end of the wiring.

Use one of those screwdriver looking things with the lite in the handle and a pointed thing at the other end to check out the Tow Vehicle wiring. They sell them at Harbor Freight for less than $5USD.
