RV Blue Book

Is there an official Blue Book for RV's? I think my insurance company is trying to low-ball me on my trailer's value and total it out. I know I can look for similar trailers for sale, but is there a Blue Book site for RV's? It looks like kbb.com only deals with cars, SUV's, etc... There are some pay sites, but I'm not sure the insurance company would accept them, so I hate to spend $20 on a report the insurance company will ignore.

Any RV Blue Books sites you know of?

There is a Blue Book for RVs (NADA) and your insurance agent should have it. It applies to stick built RVs and is not accurate at all for molded fiberglass RVs. Is this for your Fun Finder? Either way, I'd gather all the sale/sold information I could get my hands on for my particular trailer. Remember, it's not in the insurance companies best interest to do the looking, because it may cost them more ... but it is in your best interest to get what you're due.

Best of luck

I don't know of any - but this gets discussed here from time to time: that the blue books (NADA?) typically undervalue small, molded fiberglass travel trailers (which is the main reason we archive our "for sale" posts, to provide information that might be of use when establishing value).

Maybe someone else knows about an RV Blue Book site?

Anybody??

NADA stands for "National Automobile Dealers Association." NADA Appraisal Guides is the largest publisher of value guides in the world and has been the industry leader since 1933. Price guides are available for purchase for all types of vehicles."If it rolls or floats, we value it!" On the NADAguides.com website you will find values for:
• Automobiles 1926-2011
• Motorcycles 1905-2011
• Boats 1977-2011
• RVs 1977-2011 •

Angry NOT realistic

Just for fun, I decided to look up their "value" for my 1978 Fiber Stream... but they only went back to 1979.

1979 Fiber Stream FIBER STREAM - 16' Standard Equipment, Prices & Specs - NADAguides

Quote:
Suggested List (when New) = $5,095
Low Retail = $1,460
Average Retail = $1,785
The only thing they got right was the Original List Price. Everything else is Low Ball!
Since most FGRV's are sold Factory Direct when new (as Fiber Stream was) and resold private party when used (as mine was) a "Dealer's Association" will have very slim to nonexistent knowledge of the market.

NADA is worthless when it comes to our trailers. If you could find one selling for the NADA price, you'd be a lucky person! About all NADA is good for is leading occasional sellers to price their trailers too low.

Use this site, ebay, craigslist to see what it might be worth.

LurkerDan is right on.

Tell your Insurance Company you want them to REPLACE the unit that is in your pre wrecked condition rather than give you $$. NADA does not reflect the price Fiberglass RVs sell for.
