RV Insurance in Canada

Hi gang,
What insurance company do you use? I got a quote from Elite and they seem good but I'm wondering if any Canucks have good tips to pass along.

I believe you NEED I CB Cfor the 'basics'.

Optional coverage can be purchased from anyone....

Yes, ICBC gives you your plates and basic liability but for optional collision coverage and all-risks I'm looking for suggestions.

Haven't a clue either.

ICBC is the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia. It is a government crown corporation and all BC motorists must have basic liability insurance with them. They supply the license and registration for the vehicle. Also they administer drivers' licenses in BC.
What I'm looking for is the "optional" coverage for theft, accident, vandalism, etc. that private insurance companies offer. These companies are usually national in nature so non-BC people could also tell me that they use the "xyz" company. That would be helpful.

Are you required to buy separate liability insurance in Canada for a trailer??
In the U.S.,liability for the trailer goes with the tow vehicle automaticly.

Yup the trailer must be insured seperate from the car and in BC the minumum coverage you are required to have on each is:

$150,000 for medical and rehabilitation costs for each injured person, $200,000 for damages claimed by other drivers, $1 million per person if the at-fault motorist is under-insured.

AFAIK separate insurance for a trailer is not required in Ontario.

yeah I have never had insurance on any of my trailer, utility or camper, in ontario, ......you use your Auto insurance when in tow, .....but as you say you can buy additional insurance for when it is sitting at your house or at the camp ground, ......
