Have you seen this Scamp 13'? Does it look like a good buy? Any helpful comments would be appreciated to a new buyer. We are retired and very interested in the Scamp/fiberglass trailers. This was listed in Orange County Craigslist, but is actually in Escondido, CA (near San Diego).
Thanks,
Hale P

Robin G. listed this one in the "Referrals" on June 16th. So it has been on the market for over a month. The original Craigslist ad has expired. Perhaps the owner might be open to negotiation on the price if that is why it hasn't sold yet. It's interesting that these trailers usually don't stay on the market long and yet this one has been available for over a month. I wonder why???

I would not buy this. None of it looks original and it is sitting too low. Wait patiently and a better one will materialize.

Thanks for your comments. The outside has been repainted and a 'bra' added in front, are these reasonable enhancements? What could make it sit so low?

The rubber in the torsion axle is probably waaay past its "Use By" date, meaning an axle changeout is in its near future. Typically, they are good for 15 or so years, and this one (if original) is going on 24 years, plus the older axles had less capacity so could be expected to not last as long. IMHO, that's a lot of money for an egg that old.

Thanks for your info. We will definitely take yours and all comments into consideration as we make our decision. Our niece lives reasonably close-by, and she and her husband went by to see it for us. Their take is that it is in good condition for a 1984. Owner refurbished about 10 years ago, and last used it a 1.5 years ago.
Thanks again.
