Scamp front bath window lube

Recently the nylon bushings broke in my front window crank arms. I replaced the crank mechanism, but there is still a lot of friction and squeaking coming from the new nylon bushings sliding along their tracks.

Has anyone ever dealt with this before? What did you use to lubricate the track?

Thanks in advance,

Paul

Silicon

You can use silicon spray lube. It's available at any hardware store.

I use dielectric grease on both the weatherstripping and the crank mechanism. The mechanism itself is fairly light duty so be careful how tightly you close it. Bearing down to achieve a good seal may cause it to break. A lubricated / supple weatherstrip is more waterproof than dried out and perhaps cracked rubber and requires less cranking pressure to achieve a good seal.

Stay dry, john
