Thrifty Bill, being from SE MI, when I recently replaced the 7 wire harness, I replaced all the way back to under the front bench, complete with a new sealed junction box there. With the constant freeze/thaw and road salt, I don't trust any kind of electrical box on the outside.

GMTA..
The rest of it is a solar controller, Trimetric shunt, battery shut off, etc.

Compared to having the box on the tongue, Its only slightly more work to replace the cord when the time comes. In the meantime its out of the weather

As has already been said, when nothing works it is usually the ground.
We hooked another vehicle up with the Scamp. That turned out good so...it's definitely the Scamp😞. Thanks for the suggestion.

Janis, if you had hooked up another vehicle to the Scamp, and then the lights worked on the Scamp, then the problem is NOT in the Scamp. The problem is in the fuses or wiring to the plug on YOUR tow vehicle.

Hi David, I'm not responding correctly. We did that to see if there was a problem with the electrical system of our tow vehicle going to the scamp. Sadly, there's nothing wrong with our tow vehicle. It's something in the Scamp. I'm open to anything else we might try. Thanks, Janis

I thought we covered that.

Trace and test the wiring. Esp the negative. 100 ways to do it. Here is one. Use your multi-meter to check for near zero resistance from the negative (ground) terminal on the trailer plug (to the TV) and any of the negative pins on the outside lights. High or infinite resistance indicates a failed connection on the negative (ground) side. Then through process of elimination, isolate it, then repair it. Do this with no battery and no shore power. In this case you are not looking for voltage but voltage can damage the meter on continuity (ohms) setting.

This happened to me as well. The color codes for scamp do not match the 7pin. I would find the scamp electrical schematic,
usually the back page of the owners manual, and find the coding to the 7pin. On the scamp plug, match the wires on the plug to the 7pin. You will have to rewire the plug to match as you cannot change the 7pin. This worked for me. I have a 1998 13' Scamp.
