scratched, hazy 'top-hat' lights

I love the original top-hat shaped rear lights on our Boler 17. But the years have not been kind. I am wondering if any of the Canadian Tire type products to polish out the scratches actually work? That would be a lot of elbow grease! Thanks.

I have used BlueMagic headlight lens restorer which works well enough for me. Not 100% haze free, maybe 90%... and has to be redone about once a year. I see they also make BlueMagic plastic and plexiglass cleaner. I found it at WalMart.

I think the reason for having to redo is that the product is part polish (gets rid of tiny, shallow scratches) and part clear "filler" that fills in and hides or minimizes the deeper or larger scratches. Have not used this exact product but the ones I have used your not going to need enough elbow grease to rub out all the scratches.

I have used Meguiar"s PLASTX on clear plastic with good results . Don't know how well it works on colored plasiic

On my daughter's Taurus, the clear headlamp lenses used 2000 grit sandpaper combined with a plastic restorer, worked well. On my 91 pickup same procedure didnt do squat on the red taillight lense's

I haven't done a tail lamp, but I restored a headlamp kens using a kit, which turns out to be three progressively finer grits of very fine sandpaper, followed by an abrasive polish. This should work, but only on smooth surfaces. I would not expect the colour to be an issue, since it is throughout the plastic.

Google "toothpaste to restore plastic headlight lens"... might work on your tail light lens also. I have had success using toothpaste as a polish to remove small scratches and oxidation/chalking on a variety of materials. In order of coarseness Arm and Hammer is probably first with Vademacum in second place. Most other toothpastes fall into the least coarse category.
