Seam coverage

Can anyone help me? The stuff that was used to cover the interior seams are gone from our 1972 Boler. Anyone know what we can use?

My son used latex caulk and a sponge in our Boler, never have to worry about that silly tape coming off again

I just stuck some of the Scamp-supplied tape to my 1977 and as someone else stated in another thread, it doesn't stay stuck.

The adhesive seems VERY sticky, and I cleaned the seam with alcohol before sticking it up, but it came loose.

I'm going to stop by the hardware store and see if I can find some brush-on adhesive to use to get it to stay.

You might try 3M 77 spray adhesive. Hold the nozzle close to the seam, spray, wait a few minutes for the adhesive to begin to set then apply tape. You can wipe any overspray off before putting the tape on. Forget what I used now that I'm trying to tell you. Sigh.

I cut my tape before spraying adhesive so I had the strip ready to apply. Really clean and well rinsed surface is important. Never thought to try alcohol, that shoud dry fast and leave no residue.

People have commented on the cost of Scamp seam tape is low compared to other companies that sell same product. Thinking is the stick-em is where the money is saved.

-Caulk before applying tape
-Don't stretch the tape when applying
-Paint over tape to seal in place, (if painting ensolite).
