Seeking replacement recommendations for "Cable Hatch" on 1975 Trillium 1300

The flap for my "cable hatch" finally flipped it's lid and no longer is attached..
Being the kind of guy that wants to keep his Trillium as "stock" as possible I am wondering if anyone out there might have a spare "cable hatch" assembly in a corner somewhere??

If not, I am sure that others here have replaced an old "cable hatch" with a new one and am wondering if they could share with me the specs/name of a replacement that does not require a whole bunch of fiber-glassing..

Any suggestions would be appreciated..

What is a cable hatch? Do you have a picture of your hatch? so we can help you find one.

Good question.. The "Cable Hatch" is the plastic "flap" that one lifts up to pull out the 120v AC power cord.. The "flap" on mine has broken off and I am seeking a replacement for the entire unit..

what a coincidence!

I was in the same predicament 2 years ago, and tracked one down, then installed it on my Trillium 4500. Let me see if I can figure out where the heck I found it.

I actually cut the cable down to about 2 feet, and then I plug a high amp extension cord into it, keeping that connection inside the camper. I even have a thru-hull 110 vac connector, just haven't bothered to go that route yet...

Currently repairing the 4500 belly band and re-sealing the rear window at the same time. Then we'll probably get back to our first priority, camping!!!

Only in Canada, you say?

Pity.

Actually, I bought something like this, only rectangular, at a local RV service/supply shop here in Edmonton. It wasn't very expensive, and just required some sealant and a few stainless screws to install.

I just installed a couple of large hatches on the rear of my Trillium 4500 to provide better access under the dinette benches (we leave the bed set up 24/7). Most of the windows were re-seated a couple years ago, but I am still getting some moisture in from somewhere...

thumbs up

Chris from Comox, that's great! The item you ordered (same one I ordered) is an exact match, with same fastener holes and same sized center hole. At the time I bought and installed it, I did it because I wanted to get the camper functional to take it camping. I wasn't ready to decide at that point whether I was going to:

- stick with the 120vac 15 amp system
- upgrade to a 120vac 30 amp system
- etc, etc

Two years later I still haven't changed it out, however, I repaired the original power center:

- replaced the faulty old transformer with an electronic power supply
- replaced the two circuit breakers and the spdt switch

If you are planning on replacing the Cable Hatch I recommend you try my trick..
I installed one of these connectors "inside" one of the Cable Hatches like the one pictured and sealed it.. This done 2 things..

(1) I never again had to climb under my bed to fish out the electric cable since it always fell into the storage bend once done...
(2) It put a stop to ants, bugs and MICE climbing up the electric cable into my camper.. That was always a problem...Just carry a drop cord and your always ready...

Thanks everyone.. Problem solved, I found an exact replica of the original Cable Hatch and within 5 min had the old one out, the new one butyl taped on the backside and the 4 pop rivets in-place.. Good as new ;-)
