Oh, the devil came down to 'bama...

Looking around on this forum, the Rembrandts of camper restoration seem to be the Canadians...

But there are a lot of good shops out there. My Scamp is currently being worked on at a Rod and Custom shop, and they have done a great job so far. They have the frame sandblasted and rustproofed, and the body back on, and the floor is back in. Check around for a shop that does boat repair for the fiberglass work...

Randy Bishop has 9 FG trailers in his fleet. Meets your distance criteria. Not sure if he does work for others though.

Depends on the build. I can't imagine looking for someone to rehab a classic sticky... although there's one in Oregon $$$$. So it really depends on what needs to be done and what the "build" type is for the trailer...

Maybe, it you mention the kind of work needed and what trailer you have, it will help with finding a repair source. But setting a limited distance from home might really cut into those few resources available.

Mark, if you look up the local chapter of the Tin Can Tourists or post to the local Facebook of that group I am pretty sure someone will point you in the right direction. Many of the pro restores who do work for those folks also have done a few fiberglass trailers in their time, some have even owned them.

I have a PL and although I am also trying to sell, if I cannot then I may have to put money into making all the fixes PL should be doing.

They are:
1. Redo the fiberglass wheel wells
2. Re-hinge the entry door.
3. Cut off the welded on axle and bolt on another
3. Build some sort of under belly protection. Right now, vital parts are hanging down and it's just a matter of time before the propane lines get ripped off, etc.

Those are the big items. Everything is is fairly minor.
When I try local frame shops, they pretty much hang up when I say the current axle is welded on. And for the fiberglass, I need someone who knows what they are doing.

Rather than a frame shop, look for a business that builds and repairs trailers, like horse trailers & boat trailers etc., for the frame work.

A boat shop will be able to help with the fiberglass work. Ask around and find one that has a source of off site repair guys that does work for them.

Although some will poo-poo the idea, I have hired excellent mechanics by advertising on Craigslist. But ya gotta vet them very carefully.....

Gotta say, that list's not much of a endorsement for P/L though.....
