Shower will not drain. I can hear the pump running, but the water will not drain. It worked prior to last camping trip. Kitchen sink will drain; no problem. Any ideas or suggestions. Is there a filter underneath the camper that may be plugged? Have a Scamp 5r, 2005, Dlx with high lift axle. Thanks in advance.

There is a valve that should be closed for transit (so you don't get back splash from the graywater tank) and opened for operation (shower draining).

It's accessed from outside, via a hard to reach handle that is located in the front of the Casita, just to the curb side of center, at the bottom, behind the propane tank(s).

You'll have to look for it the first time... Holler back if you can't find it.

Thanks for the replies Mary and Lisa, but I have a Scamp Fifthwheel; there is no handle to pull to drain the shower. The shower pan actually has a stopper, like your sink at home. I sold my Casita this spring and bought the Scamp to replace it. Guess I need to change my signature.

sounds like you may have a clog in the "P" trap under the shower...... put a little water in your shower until it comes up over the drain and use a good "rubber" plunger and you should be able to clear it out.......hope this helps.

Maybe the newer Scamps have ptraps but i think most of them have just a tube that runs from underneath the drain ( thru a filter) to the grey water tank.... Of course on my thread someone totally mickey-moused it and put the T in to drain the shower onto the ground... I am having to take it in to get replummed!!

I don't know much about scamps but without a "P" trap in the shower how do they keep the smell of the grey tank from stinkin up the bathroom?? That's gotta be rough!

Yeah, thanks, Brenda. For a second there you had me going! I could've sworn it said "Casita" beneath your avatar!

Good luck with it. I have no idea on a Scamp Fiver...

Brenda, my 2005 Scamp 5vr shower/sink drain had a P trap, filter and water pump. If you can hear the the pump running, then the first thing I would check is the filter and then the P trap.

Good luck....Don
