Simple aid to leveling with Lynx.
I started to respond to the "Why not just level with a jack?" topic in Care and Feeding and found that it was closed.
Several people seem to have issues with leveling using Lynx Levelers or blocks of wood. Here is the tool I use. It is simply a medicine bottle containing a string somewhat longer than the width of my trailer, a magnet and a line level. Takes very little storage space and, what shall I say, CHEAP!!!
The second picture is my crude drawing of how it is used. Using the magnet, secure the string to the high side of the bumper and level as indicated. Put Lynx Levelers under the low wheel to equal the distance from the string to the low side of the bumper.
I have marked side of the bottle in increments equal to the height of the Lynx blocks. If the leveled string crosses mark 3, I put 3 levelers. Takes only seconds to find exactly what you need.
Of course, if you are using non-commercial stuff, ie: 2x4s, you will have to adjust but that will be fine as long as you are using blocks of the same height.
No bumper? We-e-e-l-l-l-l............???
