Spare tire location

Good day everyone.
I have recently acquired a '73 boler. There are two holes and faded paint where the spare tire obviously sat at the back on a bracket. All that is there are two small holes where it was bolted. So, my intention was to change the location to the front tongue so I could seal up the holes. However, I am thinking this will only "crowd" that space. I am thinking of placing the battery there, and the propane tank as well. I also want to be sensitive to tongue weight, since I may have bikes at the back of the van I'm towing it with. I was thinking that since I do not plan on using the water tank, what about placing the spare tire there? Anyone have a thought on this? Thanks for your input.

A lot of folks are looking for any way to add weight to the rear, since these trailers tent to be overly tongue-heavy. When I picked up my Scamp, it had nearly 180 pounds of tongue weight, and I don't have the bathroom model. Some are well over 20% tongue weight. If you have a large TV, the heavy tongue weight might not be a problem... but it is not necessary.

I may have missed something... is there a reason that you don't want the spare on the back?

I am not 100% sure about mounting the tire on the fibreglass shell again. I would like to avoid the holes in the shell as much as possible. I could easily do that, but it seems like quite a bit of weight on a 40 year old fibreglass shell. Also, the bracket is missing, so I am starting from scratch anyway. Just looking at options. Thanks for your input on tongue weight. ballance is something to keep in mind when packing the boler for travel regardless of the external features.
