The pole is just to hold up the roof where the wow is, it puddles when it rains and makes the vents crooked. Maybe from a heavy snowload or someone walking around the top while calking the vents. If only bolers could talk.
Some new pieces are being made to place on the ceiling from the inside, then fastened as well from the outside- and new fiberglass pipes cut in half lengh wise to cover the top where the rivets will go. It should look like a small rail up on top after finished. A gentleman who does fiberglass is getting us the supplies. This is going to be easier than the first idea to re do the top.
I will take pictures as it is done.
Waiting until this is finished to do the painting on the cupboards etc.
Still deciding on doing the ensolite with the Fibre Decor.
I just have half the upholstery finished. That was a nightmare.
Picking out colors is difficult as well-so many nice one to choose from.

rails? I'm for sure going to need a picture. I don't think I understand. My over active imagination gets weird with just words.

Color choices. That is a hard one. I always end up with rainbow colors. easier then making a choice.

Roof Sag

Willma,

Why don't you do like Casita does to reinforce the top? They put metal strips across that area and fiberglass them in place. That is how they can support the air conditioner on the roof.

Yep, Ron, thats what is going to be done, metal strips across the top, inside. That old board was just to lift the top and check it from the outside. Making the strips to fit the top , going between the two vents. Then the Ensolite will cover it up inside. Considering the
beast is 24 years old, that is not much to repair. Rest is just cosmetic-but this roof wow needed attention. It didn't leak, just puddled.

Roof Sag

Willma,

If you fiberglass them in place you don't need any rivets. Rivets would just provide more places for it to leak sometime in the future. Casita puts the straps across rather than length ways. I guess they would work either way. Probably more support cross ways since that would be shorter and it would be like extending the curve of the top edge.

I'm not saying that your ideal won't work. I just wanted to give you more to think about.

Mine's saggy too

The unit I'm picking up this weekend has got a roof sag too.

It looks like it was caused by the installation of a flat bottommed roof vent into the curved surface of the roof. The guy I'm buying it from thought he would fix it by creating a curved housing for the straight vent to sit in, thus forcing the roof back into it's proper position. Don't know how feasible this is, but thought I'd put it out there.

Let us know what you decide to do and how it works out for you.
