Stripped lug and lug nut?

I was removing the wheels from my Scamp 16' and stripped one of the lug nuts. Any suggestions for getting the wheel off the trailer without ruining the wheel paint. Where is a good place to get another lug bolt and what size is it?

Any "real" parts store can match up and supply a new lug nut and stud.
A "nutcracker" can remove the nut or just use a cutoff wheel on a small grinder. Cut "straight in"... perpendicular to the trailer wheel.
You could also remove the drum with the wheel still attached and grip the stud from inside. That is assuming you have "pressed in" studs and not "threaded in" studs. If they are "threaded in" then you could tack weld the nut to the stud and back it out with an impact, or double nut it and back it out.
If it is a pressed in stud and it will retighten then simply tighten it until it breaks, then replace it.

Are the threads stripped or did you round off the nut? Rounded nut sometimes a hex socket will work, stripped threads you might get on the nut with vice grips and turn and pull, or is it possible that the stud is a press in one and it is turning but you didn't see that happen because of using a socket on the nut. Another possibility is drill into the stud untilit's weak enough to break it off. Floyd's ideas are good ones.
