Stupid question ?
This is probably a stupid question.... I need ro move my casitas about 2 miles from my storage lot to my home for about a week while they are repaving the lot... My question is this I have a cal-mark cover on the trailer and i was wondering if i could move or dare move the trailer ( all side streets) without taking the cover off... Assuming that all of the tie downs didn't get wrapped up around the wheels
It is quite a project putting on and taking the cover off especially with our current wind conditions
Or is this the stupidest idea on record ?
Please be gentle with your responses
( lol)

Not stupid at all. But what I would do is try to fold the bottom of the cover to up over the rest of the cover up to about the belly band, turn on your 4-way flashers and go slow.

As long as the lights and licence plate are showing and not covered it would not matter if the rest is covered.

With my luck the cover would become damaged in some way!
So...I'd have to ask myself...is it really better to spend some time removing and re-installing the cover...or maybe have to buy a new cover?

Alan, I doubt your cover is anything like ours but we would not even get out of the storage parking lot with ours still on.

Ask yourself how disappointed you'd be if it gets shredded? And can you afford to replace it. If you have more time then money then take it off. If you have more money then time then go for it. Realizing if you shred it then you get to spend both time replacing and and money.

I am the Queen of stupid questions, so I would appreciate it if you'd not try to strip me of my title! Ha ha! Only kidding.
If it were my $600 Calmark cover, I'd take it off. Yes, a PITA to get back on I know, but you never know what might happen going down the road. And if something did, you'd kick yourself in the butt for about 30 minutes work or so.
In my experience, when I take short cuts, it always come back to bite me in the posterior end 😁

Stupid Questions
Murphy is waiting out there. How would you roll up the sides and secure it? Then there is possible chaff even over a short distance, is that a buckle flapping around? That is a lot of work to take it off but better than buying a new one. I know you are thinking what if I go 15 mph. Never a stupid question.

One of the finer points Murphy made is "Knowledge gained is directly proportionate to the amount of equipment ruined "

Well based on the above responses and Murphy's law & limited budget but excess time this week I have decided to take off the cover for the 2 mile drive even at 10 miles per hr it appears the risk out weighs my laziness
Thanks everyone

Hi, Alan, yes, no doubt this will take longer, but don't see any other downside to being cautious.
When do you make the move?
