Hi everyone! I love this site. We just bought our first - a 1978 Surfside and we're so excited. In Winnipeg and it needs 3 new tires. Any suggestions where to shop new or used?

Also, know anyone who does upholstery?
Thanks,
Mel
Hi Mel
I just bought two new trailer-rated tires for my Trillium at the local Kal Tire outlet. They had a couple of choices and the price seemed reasonable. You might want to give them a call and get a quote - then you can go shopping.
Upholstery??? Do you live near (what used to called when I lived there... Tec Voc?
You pay for fabric only and you don't get it back till the instructor is HAPPY with the student(s) work.
Tires?? I find our here in our area that Big O tire people are much more knowledgeable (and friendlier) than O.K. Tire or Kal Tire, but thats MY experience. On the other end of the scale, I've NEVER had a bad deal (for tires anyway) at the local Can/Tire outlet.
Us Canadians had a discussion on tires this spring when David posted about Tire Outlets in Canada: Tire Options (In Canada)?
Surfsides are basically Trillium 4500's so they use the same tires as our Trillim 1300's. As mentioned in the post I bought Nanco ST185/80 13's at OK Tire. Note, you will find some debate on this but IMHO I would get ST (Special Trailer) tires.
Hey thanks very much everyone. We checked out all the options and went with radials from Costco: ST180/75/R13 with rims, $89.99 each. Good price but the white rim takes away from the retro look a bit. Next - cushion and foam hunting...
