Surfside Bunk

My kids are growing and I am starting to get a little nervous about the capacity of the bunk in my '78 Surfside. I am wondering if anyone has reinforced their bunks to increase the weight capacity.

im not sure what the weight rating was on mine, the top bunk looked like it could put alot of pressure on the front window frame and the cabnets. i elimintaed my bunks all together and made it into a dinette but for your aplication maybe permenently attaching 4 posts from the top bunk to the floor or at least on the fron wall edge down to the floor? metal post could be set so there removable? (like short tent poles)

I have a copy of an old manual but it doesn't mention max weight for the bunk. I was told it is 90 lbs.

Your suggestion is exactly what I was thinking. I just thought I would check if there were any other ideas before I got started.
