Sway bar?

Just got back from a week vacation in the Black Hills of SD. No camp fires allowed.

My 16' scamp normally tows just fine with little or no noticeable swaying. Yesterday we encountered 30 mph cross winds across the whole of I90 through SD and the trailer was moving quite a bit. The big 5th wheels and other big units were parked as I'm sure they didn't want to deal with the wind.

Do sway bar attachments work in those conditions and if so which type would be recommeded.

Thanks,

Tim

A friction type sway bar is like power steering or brakes, It makes the task nicer and more comfortable, and adds and element of stability, but only if the set-up is working well to begin with.
The short answer is that a fricton anti-sway device would work well with your 16 Scamp and is certainly worth the modest cost.
