Swivel jack stuck.

Hi all,

Upon going to pick up our Trillium from winter storage, the swivel jack no longer contracts. The handle spins with very little resistance one way and still works to extend the jack when spun the other way.

Has anyone encountered something like this before? Any ideas on how to restore the jack to working condition?

Thx,

Chris P.

Mine was a bolt on and it was easier just to replace with another, I think it was about 30$.

Some have a pin and a gear, but I think if the pin shears off it will not go up or down, I've had the pins break and the handle will just spin freely. Maybe yours is broken and for some strange reason it's catching enough to work in one direction, good luck.

I replaced my swivel jack last year with a new unit I bought at Canadian Tire - I forget which brand name. It was an easy replacement and I was going out to snap a pic when I noticed that the lower tube had split along the groove. I am guessing that it might have been due to water freezing in the tube over the winter.
Replacement parts are just not the same as the original.
