I replaced mine, and while it was much easier than yours (i gutted my scamp) than fiberglassed the wood in the rear and held it on with both screws and clamps. After it was dried, I fiberglassed the front of the wood on to the scamp(so both the back of the wood and the front is securely fiberglassed in. I then removed the screws, bondo-ed the holes and I am still in the process of fiberglassing the rest of my
scamp.
