Has anyone replaced their taillight assemble with a newer one from another trailer? I have a 1979 Trillium and my taillight units are in bad shape.

If I take the aluminum trim piece off from the outside of my trailer ( the one that covers the seam where the top half and bottom half of the trailer meet) do I have to drill new holes for the new pop rivets or just use the old holes?

Hi: Wayne Dirkson... There is a fellow not 2hrs. from us that has some new/old stock Trill tail lights. His phone # is 519 393-6410. You can check with him to see them on line.

LED tail-lights, available from Princess Auto, are much brighter and generally better. When I put them on my trailer, I just removed the old tail-lights, filled the holes, and drilled new ones. 100% improvement.

Hi Wayne,
The belly band is held on by rivets that are anchored in 1" square pieces of steel. If water has been getting in to these steel pieces you may find they have rusted to a point where they no longer are capable of holding the rivets, and so the band is no longer held tight to the trailer. Sometimes I have been able to use sheet metal screws but in one I have now the metal has rusted to a point where I have had to break them up and remove them, and now I'm going to fill the seam and not use the belly band. Paul who had the tailights Jim mentioned above also did this on his 1650 Boler.

I used the LED ones From Princess auto. They are $34.99 and go on sale from time to time for $19.99.

They work great and are bright!!

What diameter did you use for this? I have been trying to find something to replace my lights in my 72 - but wanted to keep it as original as possible.... The LED looks awesome...
