When I taught machine shop there was a saying, "measure many, cut once". Some of you may understand this. But this is a case of do as I say, not as I do. I put a new TV table on the port side of the egg and mis-measured 1/4" and now I have a clean through hole i need to plug.

How can I pug this *and* make it look like shiny clearcoat on the outside.

Been there, done that, hard lesson to learn. I feel if you can't make the mistake disappear then make it obvious! Get a band aid decal and after you fix the hole.... stick the decal over it. Or one of those bullet hole decals, or a four-leaf clover decal or one of your favorite sports team. If nothing else you'd have a conversion starter.

My 2-1/2 cents and you don't get any change back!

How big is the hole?
I would just put a rivet and snap-cap fitting on it.
"Oh, I meant for that to be there..."

Isn't there a movie "A Rivet Runs Through It?"

Sounds like a quick easy way to fix it. Otherwise, ur into body work.
