Here's the floor beneath the rear dinette of my "new" Trillium 5500. The H2O tank sat here. How nice. Thousands of pudgy pale ant larvae now live in my shop-vac. I think I'll leave it outside tonight... Alec

That's pretty ugly.

Remove, and replace! No fixing that wood...

That is UGGGLY!!!!!
Been there and done that in a Scamp 13'. We are interested in the repair procedures you will use in the Trillium.
Please consider posting a "blow by blow" account of the rebuild.
Good luck.

yeeeuck. Consider replacing that water tank too. :-) Maybe the right thing to do is build a new platform for it with a slight slope, and some racking so if it ever does leak, it will run out to where you can see it... Make the racking wide enough so there's no significant pressure points in the bottom of the tank.. Maybe as simple as some 2" wide 3/16" aluminum slats resting on the floor...

Just thinking out loud.

I was actually relieved to find this rot, as it made a total floor overhaul inevitable. After addressing some less extensive rot previously I was on the fence as to how to approach repair, but I think it's pretty obvious now! Onward and upward!! Alec
