The subtle mysteries of the Boler Door hinge

Hi everybody...

The Trillium-style hinges mentioned by several others will not work with Bolers or their clones.

To work properly, the Trillium-style hinges need to be in line and parallel to each other. In other words, they can only work on a flat door. the Boler's shell and door's curvatures force the axis of both hinges into more or less opposing angles. It is because of this that the spring and ball (Scamp-style) hinge is used.

The ball allows the hinge arm to rotate without binding.
