Third Brake Light

Howdy folks,

Scratching my head here...

I want to add a third tail/brake light just above the rear window of my Boler.

I have a nice oblong-shaped LED with three wires. In this particular instance I know that: white = ground; black = tail; and, red = brake.

Hooking up the white to ground and the black to my running lights, no problem.

But, which brake light wire (right/brown or left/red) do I use, and how to prevent the new brake light from flashing when using that left or right turn signal? Is there a special relay/device/adapter that "splits" the turn signal away from the brake?

Anybody done this before? Help, please...

I did it once on a Toyota lowrider p/u, but I think it only had two wires. I think you just need the white and red, you really don't want it to act as a tail light , do you?

Why not just put a light on each side above the window and make them full featured or just brake and tail lights?

You MUST have a 3rd brake light control box to make it work.
