Tire Size for 1990 Bigfoot?

I bought an old Bigfoot 17. It needs new tires. The tires on it already are different sizes and are car tires.

Does anybody know the proper size of tire for the 1990 17' Bigfoot trailer?

Most likely the original tires were 205-75-14. If the wheels are 14 inch and you still have the original drop axle and the axle mount has not been changed you have very limited options for larger tires.

One of the first mods I did to my BF 17 was to replace that drop axle because the ground clearance was ridiculously low. I still have the 14" wheels/tires but when it comes time to replace the tires, the replacement straight axle will allow me to upgrade to 15" load E.

Yeah I think ours is 14" and hubby is going to go with 15" ones he said. Someone gave us some 15" white spoke rims and he's having them sandblasted and painted for it. I'm hoping it will be ok but there seems to be plenty of room for them although he hasn't gotten them yet.

The trailer likely had F78-14 for original tires, which converts to metric size ST205/75R14

Thanks for the info. Now that I'm thinking about buying a new axle and 15" wheels. Instead of just new 14" wheels

Me too ! With the straight axle and 15 inch tires I picked up 5 inches of ground clearance. I doubt that 15 inch wheels and tires will clear the wheel wells with a drop axle.
