Tire Stain

I removed the spare tire from my Casita today to wax the fiberglass behind the tire . What I discovered was that the tire had left a brown stain in the fiberglass where the tire pressed against the fiberglass .
I've tried Bar Keepers Friend ,Soft Scrub ,Oxi Clean ,thinner , Gel Gloss ,magic eraser and auto polishing compound , Nothing I've tried so far will remove the stain . So I'm looking for a solution . I know it's hidden behind the tire but I will know it's there !!

3M Marine Fiberglass Restore & wax with a power buffer should do it.... or if its really bad you may need to go with their full fiberglass rubbing compound.

once you get it off consider covering your spare with a clear drumliner to prevent contact.
Have you tried Blackstreak remover? I don't know if it will work but it might. How about Clorox toilet bowl cleaner with bleach? It is supposed to remove stains from porcelain. You might try a small spot first.

I use a shower spray to clean and prevent stains , one of those that you just spray on a wet shower and leave it. It works for the shower but...

I just ran out of real ideas so how about...
Get a gallon jug of Whiteout?
be careful there is only so much gelcoat!

Good answers Floyd but maybe we all over stress about this. Mine is marked up a bit too and I did use BK on it before the Zep. After two washings with BK I thought, what the heck it's a normal thing, we all have it. I'll worry about the road chips on the front instead . Kind of like the wrickles and gray hair.....age and use

Steve, try some acetone. It'll wipe off easily.

I picked up our trailer in Rice a month ago and since I was aware of the spare tire stain issue I asked them what they recommended. I thought it was caused by rubbing but they said it was a reaction between the rubber and fiberglass that caused the stain.

When I got home I removed the tire and was faced with the same ugly stain you found. I quickly removed it with a small amount of acetone on a rag, applied a couple of coats of wax and to prevent further staining added 3 rubber wall door stops between the tire and trailer as stand-offs.

I tried Floyd's idea with the toilet cleaner . It removed 80 to 90% of the stain . I then applied gel gloss and it removed some more of the stain . Finally I applied 2 coats of Nu Finish and buffed it out . It looks fairly good and the wife is happy ,so all is well . The tire due to vibration when traveling did scratch the gel coat so I am going to use spacers as you have and place the tire in a heavy duty trash bag as Floyd suggested to prevent staining . The tire also due to vibration ate away the paint on the top of the bumper so after sanding, priming and painting the bumper ,I added a plastic spacer on the bumper where the tire rides. Hopefully the problem is solved. The real solution to ending this problem is for Casita to improve their spare tire mounting system IMHO
