Hello, where is the best place to get a trailer brake controller and get it installed? For a decent (inexpensive) price? thanks, Sandra

I would avoid RV dealers and car dealerships, if you want inexpensive installation. Personally, I'd buy one off Amazon and have a local independent auto repair shop install it for me.

I find good auto repair shops here:

I agree that RV dealers are probably the most expensive. If you buy a controller off of E-Bay or Amazon, a U-haul dealer is a good place to have one installed at a reasonable price. I had installed my 7-way outlet at the hitch by myself and they installed the controller up front for $30 while I waited!

Let me second the U Haul recommendation. Toyota wanted $300 to install the brake controller and charge wire until they discovered the Highlander wasn't plug and play , then they wouldn't do it at all. U Haul charged under a hundred dollars. I got the controller on ebay but they could have provided one.Good luck
