Trailer weight

I have a couple of questions regarding a 1979, 16 foot, Fiber Stream trailer. I have to buy and install new springs and I need the following information:

1 - What does the trailer weigh?
2 - Where can I get springs for it?

The only way to know for sure what your trailer weighs is to weight it! You can find truck scales in your area, many times the local dump offers a scale as well as some local trucking companys.

$8 to $15

if you can't move the trailer I would suggest reading the post here in the general chat forum titled Weights in the real world. Of course that will only give you a guess-ta-mate of your trailers real weight. But, better than nothing......................... Good Luck!

Years ago I had a pickup with a broken rear spring. I took it to a shop that specifically dealt with spring replacement. The fellow replaced the spring while I watched. I doubt they will let you watch today. Shame, it was interesting. Might ask at the local auto parts place if there is a spring shop in the area. Raz

Don't forget to replace the bushings and shackles at the same time! The price will be minor and the longevity of the springs is in direct proportion to those pieces.

Trailer weight, Thanks

Thanks to those who responded. I didn't find the exact weight because I have a broken spring, but I've determined that it weighs right around 3000 Lbs.

I Found the springs I needed, new springs and all new mounting hardware came to $134.00, $46.00 of that was freight.
