Trillium 1300 1975 window

Hi all problem with a few windows. One I noticed the bottom of three on side of trailer appears to have broken inside. One above sink will not open anymore. I'm looking for some remedies on these problems. The side window appears to have a metal break. What tools are needed to perform and what supplies to fix the windows

The construction of the windows is fairly simple. The gear box sometimes needs to be replaced, or the connecting bars. Pictures would help.

Yep, they definitely can be rebuilt. You might likely be better off to pull the window first. Most of the components, like the crank gear box, and the cast arms that connect each window to to the aluminum bars are all available for purchase new. So too are the rubber components.

Hi guys the trailer is out of town but I can take a pic of it when I am there next weekend. I am in Ontario Canada. Do you know any dealers that would sell me the materials?

Do The windows come out from the inside or the outside? What tools are needed in materials to take out and put back in?

There are black plastic screw covers on the outside of the windows. It takes a gentle hand to remove them without breaking them. Then undo all the screws. Pull the window out from the bottom. It kinda hooks around the top side.

I hope somebody in the group can help me with this question:

All wooden frames in has to be replaced. Do the new frames need to be glued on? Is it enough to let the screwes hold the frames?

I have done 2 trailers so far and just let the screws hold the plywood together.
You need to clamp through the open windows or do something to help position them for screwing to the window frames but once they sandwich the fiberglass they are in there pretty solid.

I did use spray adhesive then to reattach the elephant skin to the plywood on the inside as there is not much else for it to hold to.

Would you recommend putting the butyl tape directly onto the Fiberglas or onto the aluminum windows?

Same here.

And butyl tape goes 1st on the window frame, not the trailer.

Pics are not mine.

I put the butyl on the window frame though too.
The holes for the windows in the fiberglass shell will not be perfect and the tape needs to seal the entire window perimeter so the only way to make sure that this is what happens is to tape the windows and then let them seal the hole.

Have fun,it is worth the effort!
