Trillium 1300 Serial Number
Anyone know where to find the Serial Number on an older Trillium 1300 the tag on the body is gone and the interior is gone and have been told that there might be a stamping on the frame somewhere. I can get it cheap but with no Serial Number I can not get a TOD. I would love to restore this trailer with a custom interior but with out a registration it might just end up getting scraped and the body is in too good a shape to let that happen.

The only places I am aware of is on the back of the closet door and on the earlier trailers there is a tag on the outside of the closet wall just inside the door. Obviously you have neither.
I have read about stamping your own number onto the frame and registering with that. Of course you didn't put it there.

Does the seller have a legitimate title and a set of welder's stamps?

My Trillium 4500 does not have a stamped serial number on the frame or on the outside of the body. The only place the serial number appears is on the document which is stuck to the inside of the closet door. Without that you can only go by a previous registration, if they have one. Perhaps the motor vehicle branch has a procedure for registering old units?

Here in BC you can register a "home built" trailer with no registration numbers, is that possible where you are?

On the A frame just back of the hitch, you will find that the serial number is stamped into the top of the frame rail. It is usually obscured by numerous coats of black paint.

Have you contacted a lawyer or Notary Public to verify you own said trailer so you can get papers for it . Most motor vehicle registry's don't want to work with you at all because of a lack of a paper trail & unpaid taxes on a sale item . I don't think a trailer or vehicle has much to do with anything ! They only care about the money! It's not rocket science! Just trying to help in some way. There is no logical reason to destroy that Trillium because of red tape !
Good luck if you decide to buy the Trailer! Getting a title should be possible !

Duane, The person who is considering purchasing a trailer that may only be scrap on this thread is Rick Mooyman, the orignal poster in this thread.
But since the last post before yours was in 2011, I assume that the issue was resolved, one way, or the other.
