Trillium 4500 rear bunk bed info/photos

Hi,

I am new to this site. I have a 78 trillium 4500. I am wondering if anyone has pics/dimensions of the bunk bed over the dinette?

Thanks,

Travis

I don't think I have seen a bunk over the dinette?
Mine had bunks in front over the couch or rather the couch back lifted up to become the top bunk and was hinged below the window at the top of the couch.

I can't imagine there is a spot to attach a bunk over the dinette?
Have you seen one or does yours have something that makes you think there was one in there?

I don't have pics but there definitely was a rear bunk option. When I was first in the market a few years ago I just missed out on a 4500 with front and rear rear bunks. I will see what I can find for pics.

If yours is not already equipped it will be hard to replicate. From what I remember the supports for the upper bunk were some type of brackets that mounted to either sides of the side windows. They looked like they flipped up or down. Hope you have these and that your trailer had the wood support molded in to accommodate the upper bunk supports.

I will have to check and see if I have the wood supports molded in the glass. I was hoping to fabricate the brackets and make a bunk.

We'll darn thats the 2nd time I am wrong this year?
They are adding up fast?

I think all4500 have wood around the windows and that is what both holds the windows in and is the main thing that can rot out from water entry over time.
I have had to remove rotted wood and replace it with new wood on two Trill' so far.
The bunk would need to have good wood to provide solid support too.

Under the Elephant Skin you should be able to find a wooden frame all the way around,it is plywood with a sharp angle on one side to mate to the trailer walls.

Travis do you have the parts that hold the upper bunk. I'm pretty sure there is two parts to them. The mounts on the window frames and the rails that hold the bunk. I believe the rails could be flipped so that when not used as a bunk the upper bunk would sit higher for more room underneath when using the dinette. Then when it was sleep time could be lowered again for the bunk setup.

Ed, technically you weren't wrong you never said it wasn't an option!

The rear window has a setup that is similar to the dinette table. I purchased the parts for a rear bunk, but all my 4500's have the shelving above the dinette. I also have not figured out the rear window brackets yet.

Hey Dave,
Post #2 in the thread Gilles linked to has something interesting in it. They show a support for the kitchen cabinet. I'm not sure where Raya found those photos.
