trillium factory A/C roof panel leaks

my roof vent leak has led me to a much larger problem. I have discovered that the factory A/C panel has been taped, caulked & somehow stuck to the roof of my 78 trillium 4500. I have started removing the caulk after work, but I haven't figured out what holds the panel to the roof. Can I just use screws & sikaflex ? After a little web research I think eterna bond roof repair tape might work ,any thoughts ?
Thanks,
Bobby
