Trillium help...how does it differ from a Boler?

I was set on buying a Boler but I've been looking for a year now with no luck. Today I saw a Trillium for sale 8 hours away from me...is it worth sending my husband on a mission?

1977 13' Trillium. It looks good to me but I need to how it differs from a Boler.

Frame troubles?
Door sag?
Replacement parts availablilty?
Replacement axle? Same Dexter axle???
Does it have a fiberglass floor or plywood.

Anything else I should know about the Trillium. I so appreciate your input...may have to move quick on this one!

The biggest difference you would notice will be the weight! I don't know how much they are 'stock' but we looked at one that was around 1500lbs empty! That's a lot more than a Boler and I know you were hoping to use a small tow vehicle.

They're taller too, would it fit in your storage space? It would never have fit in my garage!

This is my biased opinion but in my experience Trilliums are a notch above Bolers. Expect Bolerites to respond otherwise.

No frame issues with the '77 models.

Door sag can happen on either Trills or Bolers but if the pics are of the one you are considering it looks fine.

Most parts should not be a problem.

Again, if the pic is the one, it looks to have excellent wheel clearance which should indicate a good axle, perhaps already replaced. If not replacement axles of the same type are readily available.

The Trillium has a complete fibreglass shell on the bottom so the plywood floor is sealed from below and also fibreglassed on top on the inside. Should be a non issue.

Trilliums are a bit taller which translates to more headroom inside. Weight difference is minimal and will tow just as easily.

The biggeset issue seems to be leakage around the windows if the seal around the around the windows has broken down. Check carefully inside along the bottom of the windows, the upholstery, and in the hatches for signs if water infiltration. This looks like a very clean example and I would not be surprised if the windows have been recently resealed.

If the price is good go for it.

Smile Trilliums vs others

A big difference is Trilliums have opening windows on all four sides.
Trilliums have completely FG enclosed bottoms. Should be no seams to soak up water.

I was so pleased to see the underside of the floor when we got this one home...it actually shines! Definitely looks better than any boler I've looked at.

but remember a FG enclosed bottom does not always mean a wood free floor. A lot of them have plywood fiberglassed in the wood floor you can not see it. Many leaks on the forum here have ran down the interior wall of the trailer and rotted the floor still.

We have had two Trills in the past , loved them !
They seemed to be a lot cooler , likely because of the opening windows on all four sides ( or could and likely because both were not painted a darker color )

They are slightly larger then the boler as well .
