Trillium Jubilee '79 floor replacement, leak.

Hi, folks.

Just removed original flooring from our 1979 Trillium Jubilee. Wondering what adhesive is best and easiest to use to adhere the new 3/4" plywood floor to the fibreglass body? Any /all suggestions appreciated.

I looked to purchase something like Liquid Nails but not sure how it would work if there's a leak and water infiltrates. Speaking of leak, how would I best go about removing the cap over the belly band to check the integrity of the weather seal? Other possible areas to check??

Many thanks in advance.

Paul :-)

Hi, folks. Not sure if this helps. Here is a little more information by way of explanation giving context to my questions. Most of the original 3/4" plywood floor was glassed in except for the area covering the water reservoir under the table. That was anchored to the glassed-in plywood with hinges. I'm assuming the glassed-in subfloor was to add structural stability to the trailer. Four bolts also anchored the subfloor to the trailer chassis. These will be replaced with new. To remove the old flooring was easy and hard (tedious). The easy parts (rear corners) fell apart in my hands. For the remainder I set the depth of my circular saw to just shy of 3/4" and then pryed, chiseled and scraped the rest. The storage areas of the benches/bed were wood frames which I disassembled and removed. Now I have one big open floor ~71" by ~ 49".

Update.

The folks at Liquid Nails indicate that Liquid Nails Polyurethane Construction Adhesive (LN-950) should work well to bond plywood to fiberglass. Contact info (1-800 and email support) can be found on their website. See below.

How about some pictures. They show things way better than descriptions do

Joe,

I can't seem to manage to get pictures to upload. Sorry.

Today I finished putting everything back together and all looks well.
