Our 1976 Trillium has a fold-up top bunk under the front window. We'd like to take our two grandkids camping. There are brackets on the wall on either end, rather like the brackets at each end of a shower curtain rail, that I am told are meant to hold a safety rail to help prevent the sleeper from rolling out. Does anyone know where I might get one? Has anyone found a safe substitute or other option to make the top bunk safe?

Randy if you have a liquidation world near you they have a assortment of compression shower rods that work perfect for 10 bucks make sure you get the longer one
...For your reference, mine is...heavy-duty, extensive reinforced, copper rails. Both have thick mattresses. Each bed has it's own reading light and 120VAC/12VDC outlet for games, ipad, laptop....Upper bunk could handle...175lbs...
Excellent job. I love the bunk bed option as we have young kids, but have some reservations about the safety of the default setups. I assume a similar arrangement could be fashioned for other eggs with a similar bunk setup.
Hi Randy ,Chris is right about the safety rail, my rail is spring loaded and fits into a shower curtain bracket at each side of the trailer walls. 2 screws hold the bracket in place. That is factory so far as I know. Duane
Mikes solution is as close to factory as possible. A telescoping pole with a spring inside with rubber ends. The pole in the factory solution pulls apart for easy storage.
