Trillium Trailer - Remove Shell from Frame?

Hi, my husband and I would like to remove the shell from the frame of our Trillium Trailer. However, we are not sure how to go about this without destroying our trailer! We have read the other threads on this subject but are still not sure how after you have the trailer jacked up you support the shell in order to remove the frame. Does anyone have any pictures of completing this task? We have watched the video of the gentlemen removing the shell from his Boler but I know their floor isn't fibreglass so I'm not sure if we can use the same method he did to support his shell. Any help would be appreciated!

Type in the search block( top of page) the words:How do you lift the body off of the frame. Then search now, then go to page number# 2 you can read all kinds of comments and experienced works. Good luck.

I haven't searched, but you can find videos of almost any, uh nevermind. Check YouTube, there are probably videos, or a dozen there.

When I lifted my shell off of the frame:

1. I think it was only held on by the mastic tape
2. All of the fasteners, from inside the shell to the frame, were corroded away
3. I jacked up at all four corners simultaneously.
4. Pried it loose a bit at a time
5. Got it high enough to put some 4X4 from side to side
6. Blocked those up to allow for clearance between the frame and the shell
7. Jacked the axle up a bit
8. Took the tires off of the axle
9. Placed some scrap plywood under the hubs
10. Dragged the frame out from under the shell.

It took me some time since I was outside in a semi-confined space. (only a foot or two clearance on each side) Also was working on the dirt, mostly during the rain and snow.

It is not a really big or specially technical task. Just take it in small steps. And, be careful.

Just to add to what Gord said, I haven't pulled the Trillium 4500 shell off the frame, however I have had to repair/replace parts that cross between the shell and frame. Here are my additional thoughts:

- Replaced 6 of the 8 shell-to-frame bolts using wrenches; the 2 remaining will require cutting wheel to remove
- The propane line(s) crossing under the frame need to be disconnected
- The wire harness that plugs into the tow vehicle needs to be separated from the frame (cut the tie wraps)
- The 110vac ground wire needs to be disconnected from the frame

Yes, I did do the removal on my own.

Also pulled the belly band and eliminated it.
Changed all the exterior lights to LED.
Installed a solar controller, solar panel, deep cycle batteries, inverters, USB charging ports (interior and exterior)
Added 110 vac shore power with interior/exterior GFI outlets.
New axle
Added 3", in height, to the frame to allow for re-locating the axle.
Replaced the old door with a newer one, c/w locks, sliding window/screen door
Build awning/protectors for both front and rear windows
Installed an ARB awning on the roof
Enlarged the vent opening and enlarged it to hold a larger vent

Currently working on making some exterior hatches for access from the exterior to the spaces under the seats.

Mine is old enough that there were no exiting propane lines to worry about.
There was no 110vac wiring.
Yes, I simply cut the wiring for the running lights. I planned to replace it all anyway.
