TV Antenna with Amplifier Question

Does the Casita option for *TV antenna with amplifier* mean
another hole needs to be cut in the roof for this equipment
to work?

Seems like the fewer holes, the fewer opportunities for water
leaks...I don't watch TV, just listen to NPR and shortwave.

Yes, the TV antenna is mounted with bolts through the roof.

Also, I never did get good reception from the antenna with the amplifier.

Hmmm....maybe a long-wire with a matching network or a G5RV multi-band might do the trick...

antenna with the amplifier ???

When used with shortwave radios, antenna with the amplifier
sometimes distorts the signal, overloads the receiver, and
generates a lot of noise, probably the same on the FM band.

Thanks,

TV

I have asked this question many times about the amplifier and the antena. Basically what I have learned is it all depends on the TV you use. If you have a cable ready TV it does not fine ture very well where as the non-cable ready tv's are able ot fine tune great and you can adjust it easily. I believe Steve Brown was saying he had this problem and they took his TV to another trailer with same result where as a non-cable ready tv was brought to his trailer and picked up reseption great.

Go figure you get a cable ready "better" tv and you still get bad reception while on the antena, but at least you get good cable when it is available.

those are called avatars. there is a whole section down at the bottom of the forum page I think the top one of the last three. but mainly if you want your trailer, you draw it or use a part of a picture and srink it to under 80 somethings. pit/pics/pi??? well it tells you in that how to work the site or something. if you can't find it on the forum page I'll look it up and link it.

Hi Sally!

Hi Sally!

My cute little suburban and trailer were created by someone a whole lot more talented than am I.

Essential it's something you can create and alter in programs like Microsoft Paint (I think).

Right click on one of these, then select save as to save it on your computer. Then open the little picture with a paint program on your end. Doctor it to fit your set-up, then report to the Fiberglass RV website as part of your signature line under My Home, My Settings.

wrong place

Icons...I'm always doing that, getting the wrong picture. I was thinking of Nancy D and her green pea. didn't even think of 'with vehicle'
well they are made the same way. just put in different places.
Sally, If you have trouble drawing it out, I helped Steve C. with his, I could help you.

A whole fleet

Yeah, let's develop a whole fleet of the cute little tow vehicle/trailer icons ...

Thanks for the offer Jana!

Unfortunately, helping others alter to a custom fit, is way, way beyond my ability ... as is a lot of other things ... so once again, I'm useless, but would like to see it!!
