two mini showers in our Hunter 1

On the way back from Oregon, by way of Utah, we stopped at the Camp Hail egg thing in Colorado. While setting up, after driving in the rain, we discovered our bed was soaking wet.......
Went back into town to dry things and try to find the leak.......
No joy.....still raining.......we headed home for Arkansas.
While driving in yet another rain, I happened to look up at the rear view mirror and saw the water sheeting off the roof of our vehicle and hitting the front window weep holes dead center at high velocity. The result was two spray nozzles inside our trailer. (first time towing with this new vehicle) I stuck duct tape over the weeps and problem solved short term. I'll be experimenting with screen fabric for insects and some compressable, non permeable foam for use when traveling down the road. (the original weep guards must have gone many years ago)

Allan, I don't know what size weep hole cover you need, but there are some available here: Hehr Weep Hole Cover H210-027

Thanx Donna D.
That's why you're my favorite........but...
Too large to fit the hole...
Although it has got me started about fabricating possibilities........

Nice Hunter I Allan! I have seen very few of the Hunter I trailers (I have seen the Compact jr and I think they are almost identical to the Hunter I's) What year is your and may I ask what type of vehice you are towing it with? We just purchased our 1974 Hunter I a month ago. We have taken it out on a few small trips, but are looking forward to heading out on a longer adventure in the next few months.

Hi Laura
Our Hunter 1 is a 1974 also. We are towing with a 2012 Toyota Rav4.
We did take the table out as setup and takedown was a bit much.
We turned the bed across the trailer and set up permanently.
(mattress of HD foam and memory foam)
That leaves 24" on each side between bed and cabinets. Karen made cushions for this space and we store a portable table under the bed.
Now we don't have to make/unmake the bed have seats for changing or sitting at a table in rain, and the table is useful outside when grilling. Also have an instahot at the sink for morning coffee or just when you need a little hot water. Just returned from a 7,000 mile 3 week adventure and our Hunter felt like home.
