Uhaul converter

Anyone recommend a new converter for me? Electrical is very foreign to me. I have been doing as much reading as I can but I feel I can't find the simple answer I am looking for. So what have you guys changed to? I am looking for an easy swap out. Thanks you are all so helpful

I used a Progressive Dynamics 4045, but it wasn't an easy swap out. It mounts to a vertical surface and needs some ventilation. I have also added some 110 outlets and lights, plus some 12 volt lights, so I've done a lot of new wiring. I also rewired the tail lights. Check your tail light wiring cords , mainly where they exit the tongue underneath, ours were cracked down to bare wire.

I stuck with the original converter, but like Bob says, many converters with the integral fuse panel are designed to fit into a vertical wall.

What some have done is to install a converter with a fuse panel right next to it. That way, you can just move the wires over from the old converter to the new converter. It would take a little wiring from the converter to the fuse panel, but it is simple.

Sample components.
