Vents: where oh where to find them?
My restoration project is moving along. Aunt Cereal said that next time I consider a big project like that, she's coming along and block me with her veto!
Pics will come eventually...
I need a 9.25" x 9.25" vent for the heater and a 18" high x 22" long vent behind the fridge. These vents are nowhere to be found. My best bet at this point is to have someone make them custom. Any ideas?
Thanks!

Try Home Depot or Lowe's and look at their soffit vents. I used them for my Boler reno on the a/c and fridge, they only were a couple of dollars each, have holes for screws or rivets and worked well with butyl tape for a good seal.

My fridge vent is nearly identical to soffit vents for wood soffits. Original equipment. Might try the scamp store too. Or vintage trailers.

Didn't find them online: Home Depot, Vintage Trailer Supply, etc. I talk to a friend who makes heating ducts: none of their suppliers carry those dimensions.

It's actually 8"X22", not 18X22... Same problem: I don't find anything that's 22" long!

Answer from Imperial Group:
"No, we do not have this type of product. All we have that resembles this product is our side wall grills not designed for your application. All our products are designed for indoor use only."

Sandblast, prime, then coat with Tremclad "recreational white" - Imperial group will never know what happened to their product.
Then again, it is a furnace vent.

A post by Gilles in another thread lead me to this vent:
Refrigerator Vent Metal | coleman pop up parts
Checking back to this thread, I realized it was only 1/2 the height that you wanted. Then I thought you could use 2 behind the fridge.
Then I remembered a number of posts on fridge venting and wondered why you would need a vent that big. I doubt I have the same fridge as you, but you can see what and why I did in this thread:
http://www.fiberglassrv.com/forums/f...ing-34320.html
And once again, I used some of those Imperial interior Vents.

Here is the link to the 8" x 22" vent cover you are looking for. It is bad illustration of the part but it is the right one for your needs. Too bad I tossed out one I had that size when I remodeled my vintage Sunrader motorhome.

The smaller vent for the furnace. I don't have a Boler but my investigation of the furnace(s) they were using in that era indicated that they were made by Suburban. Try to get the model number and then go into the files for this forum and look for a parts diagram. That will give you a part number. Then contact this person and see if he has a vintage furnace or two around that he is using to salvage parts from. If he does not I would suggest creating some automatic searches on craigslist in the RV section for that model number. Here in Seattle I frequently see vintage RV furnaces show up when people are parting out old travel trailers and campers of that 1970 era. They don't sell for a lot of money

Sylvio,
I am in the process of installing a larger Dometic refrigerator in my “83 Scamp and bought a brand new Dometic 123A upper vent on E-bay about a month ago. It is 8.5” x 21” and has never been installed. Photos below.
I taped it to the opening during the snow storms we had in Denver the last two weeks to keep the snow out. However, I found that since the new vent opening is above the belly band, it tilts back a little and the openings allow the snow to blow in the back of the frig. Not good, so I have to install the newer model of upper vent that is deeper and diverts the water back out.
If you are still in need of one, it’s yours for $25 including shipping. You can use Paypal, personal check or whatever works for you since the vent is of little use to me. I can't help you with the other panel though.
If you want it, just PM me with the shipping information.
Jim

Roy, KC, Joe, Jim: all very helpful! Your hints all led to fruitful searches! I'm narrowing it down! Of course, Jim's offer is hard to beat! I'll have to go measure the opening and see...
Thanks everyone! Things are moving along!
Now, if I can only get the seals I need for the windows... Two of them are back order and another one is impossible to find. Might have to start another thread!

Vintage Trailer Supply also has one that is 8-3/8" high x 21-7/8" wide.

Confession
Guys,
I realized this morning that the 18" measure was the right one but the 22" was wrong... Sooooooo, my vent is 8 X 18". I feel REALLY bad because you took the time to think, search and answer. Please forgive me. I don't even have a clue where that (wrong!) 22" comes from.
However, with the hints you gave me, I should be able to find what I need. Imperial Group does have a few models of 8 X 18" vents, plastic and metal. Even tough they're designed for inside use, I'm sure there's something to be done with that, like Roy wrote.
Again, sorry, sorry, sorry.

Have you tried a custom car shop. I have seem vents done on car engine hoods. Seems that they could make you any size vent you want. Good Luck

Now that my trailer is back out of storage, I measured mine (the RG05969). The outside dimensions are 9.25" x 9.25".
