VIN location on Outback?

Anyone know where the VIN is stamped on a new Outback?

Hi, Paul

On first generation Trilliums, the VIN is really just the serial number on the plastic plate riveted to the body just to the left of the door. I haven't found it anywhere else on my trailer.
They didn't change much in the design when switching brand names, and maybe they didn't change that either!
But if they did make a change, I'd bet they'd put the VIN on the tongue.
The manufacturer can probably answer your question, though.
Unlike many of us with older units, you have the advantage of their continuing existence.
You can ask them at http://www.trilliumtrailers.com/

Good luck!

Francesca

You are really fortunate Paul. At least your trailer is still being built. I'd ask the manufacuter!

paul---i just went outside to check ours...there is a serial number logged on the info sheet inside the closet door. and there is the CSA number on the sticker outside the trailer door. the VIN number, on ours, at least, is on the side near all the outlets---guess that makes it driver's side. don't know if things have changed over the years.....ours is an '04.

Hi, Theresa

Is the VIN stamped on the body on the "drivers side near the outlets", or the frame, or what?

Talking

hi francesca...it is actually on a yellowish-coloured sticker, right next to the fridge outlet/vent. in our case, it is also where the registration sticker is.
there is also another sticker inside the closet door, as i said earlier, but that number is listed as a serial number...and the outside sticker is actually the vin number. odd, though, that it is simply a sticker....i looked as best i can---it is dark out so it was a rudimentary search!...and saw only the sticker. perhaps in the daylight tomorrow i will find something more permanent!

Thanks, Theresa

My curiosity's up now!
I bought my trailer from an in-state person, and didn't have to have an inspection when transferring the Title.
I'd had it for years before it even occurred to me to look for the VIN, which I'd always presumed would be stamped on the tongue.
It's not!
The only number anywhere on my trailer is the plastic serial number plaque described above. It's riveted to the body- hardly what you'd call a "tamper proof" arrangement!
I actually looked at the title to verify that this is in fact the VIN, and it is.
Now, I do NOT want you stumbling around out there in the dark anymore tonight, but tomorrow ...
Are all the numbers you've found the same, and do they match the VIN on your Title?

Ha. Too funny! I've been crawling around the trailer, under the trailer, over the trailer - never saw the big fat sticker on the side hookup side. Even the insurance agent gave up. I guess I was expecting a more permanent stamp directly into the metal frame.

No matter - since I will be keeping this little egg till the day I die (and my kids kids). ;-)
