Water Problem Scamp 13-Refrigerator???

New Scamp 13 Dometic 2193 3 way

Found water and on floor while underway. I checked under cupboard and floor was wet. I checked drain and water supply lines and they are dry. Likely culprit would seem to indicate refrigerator while running DC. Should there be a drip tray under fins inside refrigerator and where should refrigerator drain to normally.

I'll call factory tomorrow and see what they but we are in the Maine on a trip so will need some sort of temporary fix.
Thanks Brian

Hi Brian. While I think some versions of the 2193 had a drip tray and a drain, my 3 year old model came with neither. As a result I find a fair amount of water on the floor of the fridge which I routinely mop up. As it's been rather humid (I'm in Vermont) if you haven't been mopping it's probably overflowing. Good luck, Raz

Thanks. Yes been quite humid. I guess we get the spillage when underway.. Seems like a bit of a design flaw

Check out the manual here:
http://bryantrv.com/docs2/docs/rm2193.pdf

There is something about a condesate drain hole that should have been drilled.

I may be wrong but I think that's a case of the documentation not keeping up with the product. I recall reading about and expecting to find a tray and hose to remove condensation. Nothing like that on my fridge. No place inside that even hints of a drain hole. I think they were replaced by large grooves on the floor to hold the water. Frankly I would rather mop it up than have a hole through the wood floor.

Thanks. Ours has no drain.. Cloth on bottom of refrigerator while underway solved the condensation problem

If you are getting significant condensation, you should check the door gasket and the door itself to be sure of a secure seal.

We stopped at Scamp enroute home. They installed a new refrigerator. They called Dometic to try troubleshoot the condensation problem. If you are getting excessive condensation it means too much air is getting in somewhere either the door seal or from the back. Rather than risk not fixing it properly Kent put a new one in.
